Tropicana Corp Bhd has successfully completed a RM2.5 million renewal project for the Pantai Kok Rest and Recreation (R&R) center in Langkawi. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Langkawi Municipal Council Tourism City, aimed at enhancing facilities and supporting the local tourism sector.
The renewal project encompassed several improvements, including:
- Commercial Lots: Upgrading eight commercial lots within the center to facilitate business activities.
- Washrooms and Surau Facilities: Enhancing washroom and surau (prayer room) facilities for the convenience of visitors.
- Parking Infrastructure: Allocating more than 70 parking spaces for cars, motorcycles, and bicycles to cater to the needs of travelers and tourists.
These enhancements aim to create a more visitor-friendly environment and contribute to the growth of Langkawi’s tourism segment. Tropicana Corp’s group executive director, Jared Ang, emphasized the company’s commitment to building a vibrant and sustainable township in Langkawi. This renewal project is a testament to Tropicana’s targeted approach to social outreach.
Ang stated, “By focusing on and bolstering one of the stateโs key economic drivers, we ensure that our contributions have a meaningful impact and contribute to the districtโs long-term sustainability, in line with our core mantra of ‘Redefining the Art of Caring’.”
In addition to the Pantai Kok R&R center renewal, Tropicana Corp has undertaken various social outreach efforts in Langkawi, including events like the Tropicana go-go-FIT 3km Beach Fun Run at Pantai Cenang and the launch of the Langkawi International Folding Bike Challenge. These activities underscore the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and align with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.
Tropicana Foundation, reactivated in 2011, has channeled over RM26 million towards charitable causes and underprivileged segments of society. The organization continues to drive positive impacts throughout its value chain, demonstrating the increasing importance of CSR activities.
Tropicana Corp’s latest offering in Langkawi is Assana Serviced Suites, featuring 831 seafront units, situated within its 5.28-acre Tropicana Cenang integrated mixed development.
