Eco World Foundation Donates Haemodialysis Machine to St John Ambulance Malaysia-KPS

The Eco World Foundation has donated a haemodialysis machine worth RM52,000 to the St John Ambulance Malaysia-Kawasan Pantai Selangor (SJAM-KPS) Foundation to improve dialysis treatment at the Rawang Dialysis Centre.

The handover ceremony took place on January 24, attended by:

  • Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, Chairman of Eco World Foundation
  • Datuk Yeo Kim Thong, Chief Operating Officer of SJAM-KPS Foundation

This donation aims to enhance healthcare accessibility and address the critical shortage of dialysis equipment at the centre.

Addressing the Urgent Need for Dialysis Treatment

The Rawang Dialysis Centre currently operates only seven haemodialysis machines, each accommodating three patients per day. With a total of 20 patients relying on the facility, the centre faces significant challenges in meeting patient demand.

The newly donated machine will replace a unit that has been in operation for over a decade, well beyond the standard seven-to-eight-year lifespan for such medical equipment.

By ensuring the availability of a fully functional dialysis machine, Eco World Foundation aims to improve treatment efficiency and reliability for patients suffering from kidney failure.

Eco World Foundation’s Commitment to Community Healthcare

Eco World Foundation has a longstanding commitment to supporting healthcare accessibility across Malaysia. This initiative aligns with its ongoing efforts to assist non-governmental organizations (NGOs) by providing medical equipment and essential resources.

“At EcoWorld, we are deeply committed to alleviating the burdens faced by communities in need. It gives us great satisfaction to know that this contribution will help ease the pain and financial stress experienced by patients with kidney failure,” said Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye.

The foundation encourages more organisations and individuals to contribute towards healthcare initiatives, ensuring underserved communities receive adequate medical support.

“I encourage more organisations and individuals to join hands in supporting causes like this. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most,” Lee added.

Strengthening Dialysis Care in Malaysia

Dialysis treatment is a lifesaving necessity for patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), but many non-profit dialysis centres struggle with limited resources and ageing equipment.

By contributing dialysis machines, Eco World Foundation continues to support the health and well-being of communities in need, ensuring that patients receive timely and effective medical care.

With its dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR), the foundation remains steadfast in its mission to bring hope and relief to those in need—one act of kindness at a time.
