The Penang state government is optimistic that all projects earmarked for the state in the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) will proceed as planned under Budget 2024, set to be tabled on October 13. Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow conveyed his expectation for the implementation of all the listed projects, emphasizing that there are no specific requests or special requirements from the state.
Penang has secured approval for 75 new projects under the 12MP, with allocations totaling RM54.14 million. These approvals form part of the 126 projects requested by Penang during the third rolling plan of the 12MP.
In addition to these developments, the federal government is preparing an adequate funding scheme to support Penang’s light rail transit project, demonstrating its commitment to regional infrastructure and economic development.
