The much-anticipated retail component of The Exchange TRX, located within Kuala Lumpur’s Tun Razak Exchange international financial district, is poised to welcome visitors on November 29. This joint-venture development between Lendlease and TRX City Sdn Bhd promises to transform the city’s retail landscape.

Mitch Wilson, Head of Retail at Lendlease Malaysia and Project Director for The Exchange TRX, expressed confidence in the project, saying, “Our strong tenancy rate is a resounding vote of confidence given by leading international and local brands for the new retail concept that Lendlease is introducing to the market with The Exchange TRX. As Kuala Lumpurโs new social heart, The Exchange TRX disrupts the landscape with its socially immersive, experience-rich approach, reshaping the future of retail.”

Notably, beauty brand Drunk Elephant will open its first brick-and-mortar store globally at this location.
The retail precinct also hosts the Beauty Galleria, featuring renowned beauty brands such as Swiss skincare brand La Prairie and French cosmetics house Guerlainโboth debuting their stand-alone boutiques in Malaysia at The Exchange TRX.
Food enthusiasts will find new dining experiences, including Singaporeโs Tipsy Flamingo and Amazonas, a Latin American rooftop restaurant by the Kenny Hills Hospitality Group.
Seibu, one of Japan’s largest department stores, is an anchor tenant covering four levels and over 250,000 square feet. A standout feature of The Exchange TRX is its 10-acre rooftop park, known as the TRX City Park. This public space boasts cascading greenery, children’s play areas, water features, and shaded enclaves, creating a unique urban oasis in the heart of the city.
Wilson emphasized the broader social impact of The Exchange TRX, stating, “The modern retail experience must consider its impact on stakeholders. Being the social component of an international financial district (the Tun Razak Exchange), we have created communal spaces within The Exchange TRX that will hopefully serve as a catalyst for an ideas-driven economy, culminating in the TRX City Park โ the largest rooftop public park to be opened in Kuala Lumpur in recent times.”
