In a strategic move to bolster Johor Bahru’s burgeoning hospitality and residential sectors, Bangsar Heights Pavilion Sdn Bhd has officially partnered with Hyatt Hotels Corp for the management of the Hyatt Place Johor Bahru City Centre. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for the Quayside JBCC development, a RM600 million mixed-use project poised to redefine the urban landscape of Bandar Johor Bahru, Johor.
Quayside JBCC, which was softly launched in January of the previous year, is on track for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026. The development intricately blends 482 serviced suites, 24 retail lots, and 200 hotel rooms, alongside a rooftop bar and fine dining area, into a 29-storey architectural marvel.
During the signing ceremony, Bangsar Heights Pavilion CEO Aaron Yap highlighted the synergy between the two entities, emphasizing Hyatt Place’s global reputation for excellence in hospitality. “Hyatt Place is a globally recognized brand known for its modern amenities, warm hospitality, and commitment to guest satisfaction, which aligns with our commitment to providing hassle-free experiences for all our customers and residents,” Yap expressed. He further noted the strategic role of Hyatt’s expertise in establishing Quayside JBCC as a premier destination in Johor Bahru.
The Hyatt Place Johor Bahru City Centre will feature a comprehensive array of amenities, including a lobby bar and restaurant, a convenience store, versatile meeting spaces, a 24-hour fitness center, and swimming pools, designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers.
Bastien Touzeau, Hyatt Hotels Corp’s regional vice president of development, shared his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We are thrilled to continue the expansion of Hyatt Place in Malaysia, especially in such a prime location — the Quayside JBCC development.” He underscored the strategic significance of the location, which offers direct access to Johor Bahru’s key business districts and benefits from the upcoming Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System.
Additionally, Aaron Yap revealed that the residential component of Quayside JBCC, comprising 482 serviced suites, has seen an impressive sales rate of approximately 90% since its soft launch. These suites, managed and operated by Oakwood Hotel & Apartments, range in size and are priced between RM700,000 to RM1.05 million. The retail lots within the development are currently for sale, with prices ranging from RM3,000 to RM3,500 per square foot.
Located near the Johor–Singapore Causeway, Quayside JBCC boasts excellent connectivity through major highways, making it a strategically positioned development that promises to elevate the living and hospitality experience in Johor Bahru.
