MM2H Agents Face Strict Action for Spreading False Information, Warns Ministry

Agents handling the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme may face serious consequences for circulating false rumours and misleading updates, according to the tourism, arts and culture ministry.

In a Facebook post today, Tourism Minister Tiong King Sing said the ministry has launched an investigation following multiple complaints about agents claiming that the MM2H programme is not operational and cannot accept applications.

Misinformation Hindering MM2H’s Global Promotion

Tiong emphasized that agents found responsible for deliberately misleading the public would face strict action, including being blacklisted. This would prevent the agents, their directors, and shareholders from engaging in future misconduct.

โ€œThese irresponsible agents are hindering efforts to promote MM2H internationally,โ€ Tiong warned.

The minister added that such actions could harm the programmeโ€™s credibility and tarnish Malaysiaโ€™s image as a desirable destination for the MM2H initiative.

MM2H Applications Are Open

Despite the false claims, Tiong clarified that the MM2H programme has already been relaunched and is open to eligible participants. While the online application system is still undergoing testing, applicants can still proceed through other available channels.

The minister urged potential participants to rely on official sources for accurate information to avoid being misled.

For the latest updates and details, applicants are encouraged to visit the ministryโ€™s official website or contact the MM2H helpdesk at:

Ensuring the online system is fully operational before its official launch is crucial to maintaining applicant confidence, Tiong noted.
