Suling Hill Development Sdn Bhd has officially launched Northern TechValley@BKE, a premier industrial park located along the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE), with an impressive gross development value (GDV) of RM1.3 billion. The ambitious project is a collaboration between Suling Hill, AME Elite Consortium Bhd, and Majestic Gen Sdn Bhd, and spans 176 acres with a mission to attract domestic and multinational high-value industries.
A Strategic Industrial Development with a Vision for Sustainability
Ta Wee Dher, Suling Hill’s director, highlighted Northern TechValley’s unique positioning as the first project by AME Elite to expand its award-winning integrated industrial park model outside Johor. The development is meticulously designed as a green industrial park, aligning with GreenRE certification standards to promote environmentally sustainable practices.
“Our team has planned this project to not only provide cutting-edge industrial facilities but also to minimize environmental impact,” Ta said.
The industrial park will feature a range of lifestyle and recreational amenities to enhance the quality of life for the community, setting it apart from traditional industrial developments.
Strategic Location and Connectivity
Northern TechValley benefits from its strategic location, close to major road networks such as the North-South Expressway, making it highly accessible for efficient logistics and supply chain management. Its proximity to railways, ports, and airports strengthens its logistics capabilities, essential for industries reliant on streamlined distribution channels.
Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who officiated at the launch, noted that the construction will commence in the first half of 2025, following the completion of initial earthworks that began in August 2024. The project aims for completion by 2029.
Flexible Space Solutions for High-Growth Industries
Northern TechValley offers customizable and flexible space solutions tailored to diverse operational needs, making it an ideal choice for companies looking to optimize operations and scale their growth. The park is equipped with robust infrastructure, including reliable power, water supply, and high-speed fibre-optic internet to support business continuity.
“Northern TechValley’s comprehensive amenities cater to the diverse needs of both global and domestic companies, fostering a space for innovation and operational efficiency,” Ta emphasized.
Boosting Local Employment and Investment in Penang
InvestPenang CEO Loo Lee Lian highlighted the project’s potential to create substantial job opportunities and strengthen the local supply chain, positioning Penang as a preferred destination for high-quality investments.
“The industrial park exemplifies Penang’s continued appeal for industries that prioritize innovation, high value, and environmental consciousness,” said Chief Minister Chow.
The launch of Northern TechValley signifies Penang’s commitment to fostering an advanced, eco-friendly industrial landscape that supports both economic growth and environmental sustainability. As it moves toward completion, the industrial park is poised to become a significant hub for high-value-added industries in Northern Malaysia, enhancing Penang’s stature on the regional and global investment map.
