Bali Escape Kuala Lumpur: A Tropical Retail Haven in the Heart of Pudu

M&M Ventures Holdings Sdn Bhd has launched its maiden project, Bali Escape Kuala Lumpur (BEKL), a vibrant new retail park in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur. With a RM50 million investment, this one-of-a-kind destination aims to redefine shopping and leisure with a tropical twist.

Set to open in the third quarter of 2025, BEKL spans four acres and features three-storey retail lots with a total net lettable area of 213,540 sq ft. Unlike traditional shopping malls, BEKL blends outdoor and indoor elements to create an al-fresco bazaar-like atmosphere.

A Retail Experience Like No Other

BEKL stands out from nearby retail offerings with its hybrid design, offering a mix of open-air and indoor spaces. According to Chris Stanley, chief operating officer of M&M Ventures, BEKL is not just a retail park but a destination for cultural and tropical experiences.

“We are out to build a spot that will [not only] appeal to those looking for leisure and shopping, but [also] offer a special cultural and tropical experience while staying in Kuala Lumpur,” Stanley said during the groundbreaking ceremony.

As the name suggests, BEKL aims to channel the vibrant charm of Bali, with several Bali-based tenants expected to operate outlets at the park. This focus on tropical and cultural themes sets BEKL apart from its urban counterparts.

Confirmed Tenants and Diverse Offerings

M&M Ventures has already secured four tenants for BEKL:

  • Sportizza: A sports and lifestyle retailer.
  • International Food Hall: Operated by The Diordy Services Sdn Bhd, offering global dining experiences.
  • Abeh Mart: A convenience store operated by RC Distribution Services Sdn Bhd.
  • Cafe Lusso: A cozy café also operated by RC Distribution Services Sdn Bhd.

More tenants, including lifestyle and F&B brands, are expected to join, creating a vibrant mix of retail and culinary experiences. The development also plans to feature stores with offerings from Europe, Bali, and even antique shops, promising diverse and unique shopping opportunities.

Strategic Location and Accessibility

Located in Pudu, BEKL enjoys proximity to some of Kuala Lumpur’s most prominent malls, including:

  • Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre.
  • The Exchange TRX mall.
  • Berjaya Times Square.
  • MyTOWN Shopping Centre.

Its strategic location is complemented by excellent public transport accessibility. BEKL is near major train stations such as:

  • Pudu LRT station.
  • Tun Razak Exchange MRT station.
  • Hang Tuah LRT-monorail interchange station.
  • Imbi monorail station.

This connectivity makes it easy for locals and tourists to access BEKL, ensuring a steady flow of visitors.

Extended Operating Hours

To cater to tourists and offer a unique shopping experience, BEKL plans to operate from 8am to 12am, longer than the typical 10am to 10pm hours of nearby malls. This extended schedule aligns with BEKL’s vision of creating a dynamic, all-day destination for leisure and shopping.

A Vision for the Future

Stanley emphasized that BEKL seeks to provide more than just retail opportunities—it aims to be a hub for exploration, celebration, and connection.

“The shopping malls around here are mostly indoors, whereas BEKL is a hybrid between the outdoor and indoor. So we offer sort of an al-fresco feel, which in a way is also like a bazaar,” he explained.

By blending retail, dining, and cultural elements, BEKL is poised to attract diverse audiences, including locals, tourists, and expatriates.

Anticipation Builds for 2025

As the project progresses, excitement is building for BEKL’s grand opening in 2025. With its strategic location, unique hybrid design, and diverse tenant mix, BEKL is set to become a standout destination in Kuala Lumpur’s retail landscape.

Whether you’re a shopper, foodie, or culture enthusiast, Bali Escape Kuala Lumpur promises an unforgettable experience that combines the best of Bali’s charm with the convenience of urban living.
