In a move aimed at streamlining services for My Malaysia Second Home (MM2H) participants, a new MM2H service counter has commenced operations at the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (MOTAC) headquarters. The opening of this one-stop service counter, located on Level 1 of the ministry building, comes following the closure of another service center at the Immigration Department on December 15.
The newly established service counter at MOTAC is designed to cater to a range of MM2H-related services, offering convenience to pass holders and applicants. Some of the services available include pass extension applications, pass transfers, special passes pending case decisions, and various other daily transactions associated with existing MM2H pass holders.
It is worth noting that new MM2H applications under the latest conditions will be announced and processed soon. To facilitate a smooth application process, MOTAC has specified the operating hours for the counter. The service counter will be open from 8 am to 1 pm, and 2 pm to 5 pm from Mondays to Thursdays. On Fridays, it will operate from 8 am to 12.15 pm and 2.45 pm to 5 pm. Importantly, the service counter will remain closed on weekends and public holidays.
Additionally, MOTAC has emphasized that all MM2H applications must be conducted through registered MM2H agents exclusively. This requirement ensures that applications and related processes are efficiently managed and compliant with program regulations.
The MM2H program, introduced in 2002, offers foreigners the opportunity to purchase property and establish long-term residency in Malaysia. However, the program was temporarily suspended in August 2020 to allow comprehensive reviews and assessments by the Home Ministry and MOTAC. Since October 2021, all new MM2H applications and associated logistics have been managed by the Immigration Department.
With the launch of this new service counter, MOTAC aims to enhance its support for MM2H participants and applicants, providing a dedicated and accessible platform for their needs.
