Selangor has achieved a significant milestone in affordable housing by constructing 40,000 affordable homes since 2018, according to Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari. He also revealed that an additional 5,000 houses are expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Selangor’s commitment to providing affordable housing has earned recognition from the Local Government Development Ministry (KPKT), designating it as the champion state in building affordable housing units. Amirudin Shari announced plans to continue this progress, with more housing units slated for construction between 2025 and 2026.
He shared this news during his speech at the key presentation event for Pangsapuri Selangor @ Seri Temenggung buyers, where Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) Deputy Chief Executive Officer Suhaimi Kasdon was also present.
Suhaimi explained that PKNS had partnered with developer Rexpoint Resources Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the Melati Ehsan Group, in 2017 to develop homes under the Pangsapuri Selangorku @ Seri Temenggung project. This collaboration aimed to boost the state’s economy and improve the living standards of its residents.
The strategic location of the homes near Lebuh Utama Seri Gombak, MRR2, DUKE, and various public facilities is expected to provide homeowners with a competitive advantage and increase the property’s value over time.
Buyers expressed their joy and relief at finally realizing their dreams of homeownership. One buyer, Mohd Adam Abdullah, said he had waited for about eight years for this opportunity and found the property price reasonable for people in the B40 group. Another buyer, Nurliyana Yahya, had been waiting for nearly three years and was elated to no longer have to rent a house.
