The Tropika Bukit Jalil

The Tropika Bukit Jalil Commercial has opened its doors for business to serve its surrounding neighbourhood in the Bukit Jalil area here, while awaiting the completion of its residential component in more than a year’s time.

Developed by Berjaya Land Bhd (BLand), the commercial component forms part of The Tropika Bukit Jalil, a 6.5-acre freehold mixed development, which will include four blocks of residences.

The grand opening was celebrated recently with a lion dance show and a ribbon-cutting ceremony by BLand deputy chairman and Berjaya Corp Bhd joint group CEO Syed Ali Shahul Hameed, BLand CEO Datuk Abdul Rahim Mohd Zin, BLand executive director Tan Tee Ming, Trendcell Sdn Bhd (which operates Jaya Grocer) CEO Adelene Foo, and representatives of other tenants including Osso Bone Care founder Calvin Shun, Anytime Fitness director Jayagobi Shanmugam, and Oomph Café & Bar founder Vince Chow.

Housing nine units of double-storey shop lots and 11 retail units, the commercial centre is anchored by Jaya Grocer supermarket with its wide range of imported goods and quality fresh ingredients.

Offering a balanced mix of healthcare, fitness and F&B, other tenants include Watson, Caring, One Doc x Hair Doc, Kimiso Beauty and Osso Bone Care, a technologically-equipped chiropractic centre. It also houses Anytime Fitness, the world’s largest 24-hour fitness network with members across all seven continents.

Besides Starbucks and Baskin-Robbins, the Bukit Jalil community will also get to enjoy other eateries such as Chicken Claypot House, Mr Chizu, Happy Lemon and La Juiceria Superfoods, which serves farm-to-table gourmet salads, poke bowls, wholesome wraps, plant-based smoothie and coffee and more.

Notably, Oomph Cafe & Bar opened its first outlet here, serving the culinary collaboration between Brew & Bread (locally renowned bean roasters and café operator) and Zhou (restobar operators of GUANG, YAN, Bushido and many others). Cake and pastry lovers will find a tantalising array of selections here.

“The Tropika Bukit Jalil demonstrates BLand’s continuous commitment to building not only homes but also a thriving community that gathers people from all walks of life to experience a truly inspiring lifestyle for our buyers,” Syed Ali stated in the media release.

“With the current tenant mix and diverse offerings for the Bukit Jalil community, I am confident that The Tropika Bukit JalilCommercial will be the next hangout spot and an ideal place to live, work and play,” said Tan, adding that the Commercial is 100% tenanted.

“Bukit Jalil is one of the few locations in Kuala Lumpur where property prices have been holding up well and we are confident The Tropika Bukit Jalil will deliver exceptional value for our buyers,” Abdul Rahim added.

In response to EdgeProp.my’s questions, Tan said all the four blocks of the residences would be handed over together, slated to be in the second quarter of 2024.

“Out of the 868 units, there are now only 20 units left unbooked,” he revealed.

According to its marketing team, the units have appreciated by about 20% since its launch, and are now priced between RM703,000 and RM1,256,000 for units from 732 sq ft to 1,318 sq ft.

The Tropika is flanked by five major highways, namely the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), Puchong-Sungai Besi Highway, Shah Alam Expressway, Maju Expressway (MEX) and New Pantai Expressway. It is also accessible by the Rapid KL bus and Light Rail Transit (LRT).
