The East Coast Rail Line (ECRL), a pivotal project in Malaysia’s transport infrastructure landscape, is set to commence its next crucial phase—system installations for electrification, signaling, and telecommunication. Datuk Seri Darwis Abdul Razak, CEO of Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd, confirmed the timeline, highlighting the seamless transition from track laying to system installation. This progression is critical for extending the track from Dungun to Kota Bharu, Kelantan, with completion aimed for December this year.
