Sunsuria Bhd has marked a significant step in international cooperation by signing a co-construction agreement with the Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government (Gulou district). This agreement, centered around the construction of the Asean Digital Trade Industrial Park in Fuzhou, China, was formalized on December 21 during the inaugural Overseas Chinese Talent Conference for Development in Fuzhou.
Sunsuria’s executive chairman, Tan Sri Ter Leong Yap, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. “This partnership with Fuzhou (Gulou district) to establish the Asean Digital Trade Industrial Park is a strategic move to attract top talents and digital companies from both China and Malaysia. Our aim is to jointly propel the digital economy’s growth in both nations,” he said.
Highlighting Malaysia’s active role in the digital sector over the past decade, Ter pointed to various national initiatives like the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC Malaysia), Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint, and MyDigital. These programs underscore Malaysia’s commitment and competitiveness in fostering digital innovation across multiple sectors, including tourism, trade, agriculture, and finance.
The signing event also saw participation from prominent digital companies. Shanghai Bridge Digital Technology Group, Haohuo Network Technology Co Ltd, Fujian HealthyWay IT Co Ltd, and AMG Advance Profitable Sdn Bhd were among the signatories of the agreement on December 21.
